Park homes are affordable, stylish and comfortable alternatives to traditional houses or other types of property. Also known as lodges, static homes and leisure homes. Modern park homes are fully insulated (walls floors and ceilings), with central heating, double glazing and modern boilers. There are many choices when it comes to design, layout and size. Park homes are usually fully furnished to high specifications, including loose, fitted and integrated furniture, you also have the option of buying unfurnished.
A park home usually has up to three bedrooms, an ensuite, a sitting room, dining area, fully fitted integrated kitchen and bathrooms. Site fees can vary as do the services included. But generally, include rubbish removal and grounds maintenance.
Residential parks are open all year round and you can live there permanently in a purpose-built park home. This will mean paying council tax on top of any site fees. Holiday parks have different licenses so you cannot legally live all year round on a holiday park. You can, however, stay there for several months at a time. Holiday homes do not count as main residences so do not incur council tax.
